Losing a beloved pet is a heartbreaking experience, and it can be difficult to know what steps to take. If your pet has just passed away, follow these steps:
1. Wrap Your Pet’s Remains with Care Until our team arrives, gently wrap your pet in a blanket or towel and place them in a cool, quiet space. This helps preserve the body while you wait for pickup. Avoid placing your pet outside or in a location with direct sunlight or heat. We're in Florida, which means putting them in the garage is probably not the best option!
2. Contact Affordable Pet Cremation of Florida Next, call Affordable Pet Cremation of Florida at (904) 955-8521. We provide quick, respectful, and painless pet pick-up services throughout North and Central Florida. Our compassionate team specializes in transparent and economical pet cremation. 3. Explore Memorial Options Affordable Pet Cremation of Florida offers several memorial options to honor your pet’s memory. Many families choose to keep the ashes in a decorative urn, scatter them in a meaningful place, or create a keepsake item. Ask about personalized memorial options when you call.
So if your pet just died and you're at a loss for what to do: 1) Wrap them in a towel and keep them in a cool, dry place.
2) Call Affordable Pet Cremation to schedule a pick up.
3) Choose how you wish to memorialize your furry friend.
Selecting a pet cremation service is a sensitive decision that requires careful thought to ensure your pet is honored and your needs are met during a difficult time. Below are key factors to consider, with details on how **we at Affordable Pet Cremation of Florida** meet these standards:
Compassionate and Dignified Care
A provider should offer empathetic support and treat your pet with respect, understanding the emotional bond you share. Look for a team that communicates with kindness and sensitivity. We prioritize compassionate care, ensuring your pet is handled with dignity. Our staff offers heartfelt support, guiding you through the process with empathy and understanding.
Transparency in Pricing and Services
Choose a provider that is clear about costs and cremation options (private, semi-private, or communal). Transparency prevents unexpected fees and helps you make informed decisions. We provide transparent pricing for all services, clearly outlining private, semi-private, and communal cremation options. Our website features a detailed FAQ, ensuring you understand every step without hidden costs.
Variety of Cremation and Memorial Options
Look for providers offering diverse services to suit your preferences, such as private cremation (ashes returned) or memorial keepsakes like urns, jewelry, or paw prints. We offer a range of options, including private, semi-private, and communal cremations, plus customizable memorial products like urns and keepsake jewelry to honor your pet in a meaningful way.
Accessibility and Convenience
A reliable provider should offer flexible services, such as 24/7 pick-up or home collection, to accommodate your needs, especially during unexpected loss. Serving North and Central Florida, we provide 24/7 home pick-up services, collecting your pet from your home or veterinarian’s office at any time, ensuring a seamless and convenient experience.
Affordability Balanced with Quality
Affordability is important, but it shouldn’t compromise the quality of care. Seek a provider that offers fair pricing while maintaining professional standards. True to our name, we offer cost-effective cremation packages without sacrificing quality. Our professional team ensures your pet is treated with care, earning trust across Jacksonville and beyond.

Every private and semi-private cremation comes with a tasteful cremation certificate and temporary urn free of charge. If you'd like to upgrade your urn to something more permanent and meaningful, we offer a wide range of urns, keepsake jewelry, and other memorial items to help you honor and cherish your pet's memory.

Yes, we provide pet pickup and transportation services for your convenience. Under normal circumstances, pets are picked up at the veterinarian's or pet hospital's location. This is done free of charge. If, however, you'd like us to pick up at your home, this is also possible for a small fee. See our price sheet for details.
We provide private, semi-private, and communal pet cremation services. Each service includes a certificate and a temporary urn for your pet’s ashes at no extra cost. Please note that ashes are not returned for communal cremations. You can also upgrade the temporary urn to a permanent one from our selection.
Private pet cremation ensures that your pet is cremated individually, alone in the cremation chamber, so you receive only your pet’s ashes. This is the most personalized and respectful option.
This is verified by our electronic pet tracking system called "PET TRAX"
Semi-private pet cremation involves cremating a small number of pets together while keeping them physically separated by partitions within the cremation chamber. While some mingling of ashes may occur, we make every effort to keep them distinct. You may request the ashes to be returned to you in a semi-private cremation.
Communal pet cremation involves cremating multiple pets together without separation. As a result, ashes are not returned to the owner. This option is often more affordable and is suitable for those who do not require ashes to be returned. Regardless, we still provide you a certificate suitable for framing memorializing your pet at no charge.
All cremations at Affordable Pet Cremation of Florida include a chain of custody and a certificate of cremation to ensure transparency and peace of mind. For semi-private cremation, we take additional precautions to minimize any ash mixing. Please note that we are unable to return the ashes for communal cremations.
Affordable Pet Cremation of Florida adheres to the high standards of the International Association of Pet Cemetaries and Crematories for your peace of mind.

If provided through your veterinarian, your pet's ashes are typically available at your vet's office within 3 to 5 days, though rushes are possible for an additional charge and can be accomplished in as little as 1 day.

Special orders for memorial products may extend the timeline.

At Affordable Pet Cremation of Florida, we understand that saying goodbye to your beloved pet is an incredibly emotional experience. Ideally, it is best to arrange for the cremation as soon as possible to ensure the preservation of your pet's remains.
Typically, waiting no more than 24 to 48 hours is recommended to prevent decomposition, especially in warmer climates like Florida.
However, if immediate cremation is not an option, refrigerating your pet's remains can help preserve them for a slightly extended period.
